A seminar on “Global opportunities for Physiotherapy Students” was organised on 13th April, 2023
in SGT university by Association of Sports health and fitness under the aegis of Faculty of
Physiotherapy. Dr. Rachita Luthra, consultant orthopaedic physiotherapist, New Delhi was invited as
the resource person for the event. Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Pro-Chancellor, SGT University joined
as chief guest for the event. Dean of FPHY, Dr. Pooja Anand, Dean, FPHY welcomed the guests and
shared her valuable experience regarding the future of physiotherapists abroad.
Dr. Rachita shared her experience and process of licencing as physiotherapist in different countries.
The audience learned about services provided by FCCPT (Foreign credentialing commission of
Physical Therapy). She talked about the education credentials and also about the appearing exams
for immigration and licensure. She named many top universities in Canada and USA which provides
education in a low fees and scholarships which is beneficial for the students to study abroad.
To make the event more interesting, the association of sports health & fitness organised a quiz
programme for the students and also provided rewards for the winners. Lastly the event was
concluded with the vote of thanks given by Dr. Sajjan Pal. Approximately 250 students participated
in the seminar.
