On 09 September 2024, the Indian Navy marked a key achievement in Indigenous ship building by launching Malpe and Mulki, the fourth and fifth ships of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) project. The ships, built by Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL), were launched in Kochi following traditional maritime protocols.
