Student of Japanese language, Khattar gets his books from VC

Chandigarh, January 2

Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Professor Som Nath Sachdeva greeted Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on new year at his residence and handed over a gift received from Japan Foundation, New Delhi. As a goodwill gesture, Director General, Japan Foundation, New Delhi Koji Sato had sent a set of books on Japanese language, art, culture, society, religion and mythology along with a letter written in Hindi to the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is learning basic Japanese Culture and language in a three-month duration online basic certificate course in Kurukshetra University.

While thanking the Japan foundation, the Chief Minister said, “I am glad to receive these books and I will cherish this gift forever. We need to learn about different cultures and languages to expand our knowledge and to respect other cultures. Books are the best companions in this endeavour for all.”

Khattar further said that we need to teach our students at least one foreign language and extra skill so that they become employable and also learn about different cultures. The Chief Minister also wished the entire KU fraternity and stakeholders a happy, healthful and enjoyable new year 2022.

KU Registrar, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages, Prof Brajesh Sawhney, Curator Dharohar Museum, Dr. Vivek Chawla and Dr. Jitender Jangra were present on the occasion.
