The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, in collaboration with Samajik Vikas, SGT Ka Prayaas (SVSP) SGT University, celebrated Safe Motherhood Day.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, in collaboration with Samajik Vikas, SGT Ka Prayaas (SVSP) SGT University, celebrated Safe Motherhood Day on the Theme “Remain at home amid coronavirus, protect mother and infant safe from coronavirus”, on 18th April 2023 at Deverkhana Badli, Jhajjar, Haryana with the goal to protect the mothers and infants from coronavirus.
The day was celebrated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pity Kaul, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Prof. (Dr.) Akoijam Mamata Devi (HOD of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Department) and Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Dular (Central Coordinator SVSP & HOD Of Community Health Nursing Department) and was coordinated by Ms. Neeti Goyal PG Tutor from Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Department Faculty of Nursing SGT University.
The health camp was organized for the mothers to meet their health needs. A total of 14 (PG & UG) Nursing students took part in the camp. Dr. Neha Phogat, Junior Resident at SGT Hospital, did the health check-ups and our UG students performed health assessment (Blood pressure, blood sugar level, height, weight & BMI) of 120 mothers under the supervision of Ms. Km. Sonam & Mr. Naveen Vats, PG Tutors, Faculty of Nursing. PG students provided health teaching to the mothers regarding protection from the coronavirus, the importance of breastfeeding & reproductive hygiene. The village Sarpanch, Ms. Jyoti highly acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the team in serving the community. We are thankful to the Sarpanch of the village for her constant support.
