The Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University under the aegis of Samajik Vikas SGT Ka Prayas (SVSP) Committee in collaboration with
Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Nursing, Allied Sciences, Mass Communication and SGT Publicity Team organized a Mega Health Camp on occasion of World Health Day 2023 and also as an extension of the month-long celebration activities of World Oral Health Day,
2023. The camp was organized on 7th April 2023 (Thursday) at Siwari Village, Farrukh Nagar, Gurugram. The dental team took initiative under guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Associate Dean and Prof. and Head), Dr. Sunil Dhular (Coordinator, SVSP) and Dr. Sarju Devi. Expert Guidance for the whole event was also provided by Mr. Sunil Jaglan and Dr. Bharti Raina. The dental team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana (Associate Professor, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry) along with 1 postgraduate student Dr. Anushi (Dept. of Pedodontics), 7
BDS interns Nisha, Preeti, Rashmit, Shalley, Swati, Ishan, Ragini along with Mr. Sunil (Attendant). Oral Health checkup of 76 individuals including 27 males and 49 females from different age groups was done. A total of 37 patients were provided treatment in the Mobile Dental Van. Patients required complex treatment were referred to SGT Dental Hospital and informed about the provision of conveyance facility by SGT University. All the needy individuals received an oral hygiene kit that included toothpaste, toothbrush, and mouthwash. Along with that, basic medicines were also distributed to the patients. The team imparted the importance of oral health, routine oral hygiene instructions to people and demonstrated brushing techniques. Dental team also made people aware about consequences of tobacco consumption and motivated tobacco users to quit tobacco for a healthy lifestyle. The villagers expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged to take care of their oral hygiene habits in future and our dental students appreciated the opportunity provided to them and expressed their willingness to participate in future activities conducted by the department.
