The Faculty of Dental Sciences conducts an oral health screening and treatment camp at Yakubpur Village.

An oral health screening and treatment camp was organized by the Department of Public Health
Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University on 8th February 2023 (Wednesday) at
Yakubpur Village in association with Reliance MET.
Dr. Surbhi Priyadarshi (Assistant Professor) headed the dental team along with 2 postgraduates
Dr. Preetika (Department of Oral Medicine), Dr. Gaurav (Department of Oral Pathology), 6
interns- Nikita, Prateek, Pawan, Garima, Sakshi, and Muskan. 2 attendants accompanied the dental
team- Mr. Sunil and Mr. Darshan. A total of 69 patients were examined. Twenty patients were
provided treatment (oral prophylaxis) in the Mobile dental van on the campsite and Blood Glucose
Level Estimation was also done for the needy. Along with the screening, a health talk was delivered
simultaneously on how to take care of the teeth, the importance of brushing, and proper brushing
technique. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and oral mouthwashes were distributed to the needy
population. All queries regarding toothbrushing techniques were explained individually to the
patients. The patients cherished the chance to interact with the dentists to enquire and gain
knowledge about their oral health and maintain good oral hygiene. The patients were also
given referral slips and were referred to SGT University for further needful treatment.
