SGT University Organises Chabeel Seva In Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Memory
The SGT University family came together with devotion and unity to organise Chabeel Seva in remembrance of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, revered as “Shaheedan De Sartaj” or the Crown of Martyrs. The spiritual and humanitarian initiative was held on the university campus as a tribute to Guru Ji’s sacrifice, teachings, and timeless message of selfless service.
Observed during the intense summer season, the Chabeel Seva involved the distribution of refreshing cold drinks, including sweet rosewater beverages, among students, faculty members, staff, and visitors. The event reflected the Sikh tradition of “sewa” — serving humanity without expectation or discrimination.
The programme was inspired by Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s powerful teaching:
“ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੇ ॥”
“Whatever you do is sweet to me.”
This message symbolises acceptance, faith, resilience, and humility even during hardship. Through the Chabeel Seva, members of the SGT University community paid tribute to these ideals by spreading kindness and compassion across the campus.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the seva activities, working together to prepare and distribute drinks while ensuring that everyone on campus felt welcomed and cared for. The atmosphere was filled with positivity, gratitude, and a spirit of togetherness.

The event not only commemorated Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom but also encouraged the younger generation to understand the importance of humanity, unity, and community welfare. Such initiatives help strengthen cultural awareness and inspire students to contribute positively to society through acts of kindness and service.
University authorities and organisers shared that Chabeel Seva is more than a tradition; it is a reminder of the values that connect communities through empathy and collective responsibility.
The observance concluded with prayers and heartfelt wishes for peace, harmony, and continued commitment toward serving humanity. The SGT University family reaffirmed its dedication to carrying forward Guru Ji’s teachings of compassion, gratitude, and selfless service in everyday life.
