Education Is The Most Precious Possession A Person Can Have: Dr Madhavi

The Faculty of Education organised a webinar on the occasion of “National Education Day” on Thursday. The event was moderated by Ridhi.

While welcoming all the participants, Dr Madhavi Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Education, said, “Education and knowledge are some of the most important & precious possessions a person can have, which can never be stolen. Education and knowledge can never diminish but will only increase.”

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Navdeep Singh Tung, who was chief guest, enlightened the participants on National Education Day and said how important education is for every person to develop their overall persona.

Dr Amarendra Pani informed that every year since 2008, National Education Day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of independent India’s first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, on his Jayanti.

Pani further said that Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad played a significant role in shaping the country’s education system. During his tenure, the UGC, AICTE, Kharagpur Institute of higher Education, the University education commission, and the Secondary education commission were set up.

Dr Manita Devi of the SGT University gave her vote of thanks and took feedback from the participants.
