FASTag Annual Pass at ₹3,000 Announced for Private Vehicles

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has unveiled a significant initiative for private vehicle users: a FASTag-based annual pass priced at just ₹3,000. This move aims to make travel on national highways more affordable, efficient, and free from congestion.

Set to launch on August 15, 2025, the annual pass will be available for non-commercial private vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans. The pass will remain valid for one year from the date of activation or until 200 trips are completed, whichever comes first.

This announcement addresses growing concerns about rising toll charges and the proximity of toll plazas. According to Gadkari, this single-payment system will streamline toll collections, minimize travel delays, and prevent disputes at toll booths.

The pass will be accessible through the Rajmarg Yatra App, as well as the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH. A dedicated link for activation and renewal will be provided soon.

Gadkari emphasized that this initiative will particularly benefit daily and frequent commuters, especially those living in urban outskirts where toll plazas are located within short distances. The new system not only reduces travel costs but also aims to alleviate traffic congestion and promote digital payment systems.

With the government’s push for digital toll collection through the FASTag system, this annual pass is expected to lessen the burden on regular travelers while enhancing the overall travel experience throughout India’s expanding national highway network.
