Gurugram Opens Three New Rural Health Centres

The Gurugram health department inaugurated three new sub-health centres in the villages of Chandu, Noorgarh, and Mahchana, as well as a block-level public health unit in Haileymandi, on Thursday. This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare services in the rural areas of the district.

According to officials, the new public health unit at Haileymandi will significantly enhance primary healthcare and diagnostic services in the Pataudi block. The facility is equipped with laboratory testing services, including hemoglobin tests (HB), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), random blood sugar (RBS), dengue, malaria, and blood group testing, making healthcare more accessible to villagers in remote locations.

Approximately ₹2.84 crore has been invested over the past year to develop the three sub-health centres and the public health unit. Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated that this initiative aims to improve medical facilities in rural areas and reduce the patient load on civil hospitals and sub-divisional healthcare centres.

During the inauguration event, the minister also announced plans to establish eight additional sub-health centres and three primary health centres (PHCs) in Ransika, Rithoj, Baghnakhi, and Sidharwali by 2026. She mentioned that a new sub-health centre has been proposed for Ghamroj village, and the existing PHCs at Daultabad and Wazirabad are expected to be upgraded to community health centres.

Health department officials indicated that the expansion of healthcare facilities would improve vaccination and immunization coverage, strengthen maternal healthcare services, and enhance disease monitoring systems in rural regions. Adequate staffing, including doctors and nursing personnel, has also been planned at the block level to effectively support patient care.

Currently, Gurugram district has around 42 healthcare facilities, including hospitals, primary health centres, and sub-centres. Officials stated that the healthcare upgrades would be implemented in phases to ensure better local treatment options, advanced medical equipment, and specialized healthcare services for residents living far from urban medical institutions.

Authorities have instructed district health officials to closely monitor ongoing healthcare development projects to ensure timely completion and efficient implementation across the region.
