Ministers Held Meeting To Discuss Various Agricultural Schemes

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister JP Dalal met Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala at New Delhi last evening, and discussed various schemes.

Dalal apprised the Union Agriculture Minister that Haryana Government has increased the compensation amount for damaged crops from Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. He also requested the Union Agriculture Minister to give the compensation money to the farmers at the earliest.

While meeting with Parshottam Rupala, Dalal informed him about the state’s development of milk production, animal husbandry, and fisheries.

Purushottam Rupala said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to double the income of farmers by encouraging them to adopt other income sources along with agriculture and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana is the part of this objective which has facilitated the fish rearing farmers.”  Under this scheme, 40 per cent of financial assistance will be provided to the General Caste beneficiaries and 60 per cent to the Scheduled Caste and Women beneficiaries, he added.

Replying to the Union Minister, Dalal said that the Central Government schemes are implemented on a large scale in the state.
