Oral health camp for visually impaired by SGT University

Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University in continuation of the World Health Day 2022 celebrations and also recognizing the Blindness Prevention Week 2022, organised Oral Health Screening, Education and Treatment Camp at Blind Relief Association campus, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
Our Dental doctors have been catering to the Oral Health care needs of residing school children and vocational trainees at the campus since 2009. The day’s activity was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry in collaboration with the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. The activity was conceived by Dr. Shourya Tandon, Associate Dean & Professor, and Head, of Public Health Dentistry. The department considers this group of the population as a special one as their limitations have always led to their compromised Oral health status. The outreach activity was headed by Dr. Anil Gupta, Professor, and Head and Dr. Charu Khurana, Assistant Professor along with Postgraduates, Intern students a support staff. A total of 126 people including children were screened and 52 Dental treatment procedures were provided to attendees in our state-of-the-art Mobile Dental Van.
Oral Hygiene Products support for all the attendees was provided by Colgate Palmolive Pvt. INDIA Ltd. And sponsored by the Department of Public Health Dentistry in the form of distribution of Toothpastes and Toothbrushes to all attendees of the camp. Mr. Zia represented the firm that provided the support for the same.
Specially drafted oral hygiene instructions in the braille language were also distributed as manuscripts to all attendees at the camp.
Overall, the activity was organised with noble and social responsibility mindset, wherein the team members happily contributed to the Oral Health care needs of this special group of population.
