SGT University celebrates Basant Utsav with Fervour and Festivities

The Basant Utsav was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at SGT University. The ground was beautifully lightening up with flowers everywhere. Mini sculptures were created to attract the audience. Different stalls of Nursery were set up where people can buy and grab knowledge regarding the plants. The vibrant atmosphere was seen as everyone was so happy and delighted. Cheer and chirping among everyone can be clearly heard. Girls were enjoying on a swing that was beautifully decorated with flowers. Moving ahead at the entrance of the ground a stage with a red carpet was set up for the arrival of the dignitaries. Students from different schools also came and are happy to be part of Basant Utsav. They seem to be thoroughly enjoying the event. When moved further on the other side of the ground a full-fledged center stage was introduced for the performances that were going to be held in the day. A maximum number of crowd can be seen in front of the stage who were enthusiastically enjoying the performances. Everyone was in a jovial mood. Hooting can be clearly heard of the audiences showing that they were happy and the performances were a huge success. The main attraction was I LOVE SGTU selfie point which was beautifully incarnated with flowers and everyone was capturing it in their cameras. Different selfie point was created where people in groups and individual were capturing the moment. Various competitions were organized such as Poster Making, Rangoli, Fruit Carving, Dry Flower art, Flower Accessory Making, Exotic Plant Exhibition, Photography and Singing and Dance competition. A lot of SGTians had taken part to show their skill and talent eagerly waiting for the judge’s response for their hard work. Food stalls were set up by Hotel and Management Department and the various department has set up different stalls such as ice cream, pizza, burger, juices fruits and vegetables with the Department of fashion having its stall design for life had been center of attraction for the audience. There was a stall that was serving meals and beverages to the outside students. Students were sitting on the ground in groups and seen enjoying their meals. Dancing and singing performances were going in high josh. Everyone was seen enjoying the Basant Utsav in their own way.
The Commencement of Basant Ustav 2022 with the lightning of the ceremonial lamp, Prof. Khushboo welcomed the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhry Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar and Guru Jambheshwar University, Science and Agriculture University, Hisar, Prof. B.R.Kamboj, Principal & Ex- Member Haryana Service Selection Board Prof. Hansraj, IFS additional CEO Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority Dr. Subhash Yadav, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Sciences Prof. Ashok Kumar, Pro-Chancellor Prof. R.C. Kuhad, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. O P Kalara. Somya student of SGT University beautifully performed a dance on Sarasvati’s song to express her gesture towards the occasion.
Later, the guests moved to the temple ground where they visited various stalls. Mrs. Madhupreet Kaur Chawla, Chairperson and Mr. Manmohan Singh Chawla, Managing Trustee of Shri Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust also visited various stalls and encouraged the students.
Prof. O P Kalara in his speech explained the importance of celebrating Basant Ustav and addressed everyone to take part in various events organized by the faculty. Prof. R.C. Kuhad highlights the importance of Basant Ustav with some beautiful words. Guest of Honor Prof. Hansraj gave the message of lifelong learning with reference to Mahabharat, he also told students that on this planet people who really is your well-wisher is your parents and after that your university. Chief Guests Professor B.R. Kamboj in his speech highlights the importance of teachers in the nation.
