The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SGT University organized a dental check-up at Good Shepherd Pre School & Day Care, Gurgaon.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University
organized a dental check-up in continuation with the World Oral Health Day, 2023- month
long celebrations on 19 th April, 2023 (Wednesday) at Good Shepherd Pre School & Day Care,
Gurgaon. This was the extension of previous screening session conducted on 17 th April, 2023.
The dental team was headed by Dr. Surbhi Priyadarshi (Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Public
Health Dentistry) along with 8 interns Ishaan, Lakshay, Amit, Jagriti, Diksha, Asha, Mansi,
Garima. Mr. Darshan (Attendant) accompanied the dental team. 105 individuals were
screened for their oral health status which included the students, teaching staff and non-
teaching staff. The student beneficiaries belonged to Ist and IInd Classes.
Oral health talk was rendered, and brushing technique was demonstrated with the help of
dentoform model. Parents of students having doubts and queries regarding their child’s oral
health status were also answered by the dental team members.
Along with the students, dental screening was also done for the teaching and non-teaching
staff. Near about 10 patients were provided treatment in the mobile dental van at the camp
site. Positive feedback was obtained from the treated and attended patients. Toothpastes were
also distributed, and referral slips were provided to the beneficiaries to further get their
treatment done in SGT Dental hospital.
The camp was organized to create awareness related to the issues of oral health and the
importance of oral hygiene and efforts of dental team members to make this session
successful were appreciated by the school authority.
