The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SGT University organized an Oral Health Screening programme and awareness Workshop at Mahavir Enclave, Delhi
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University celebrated National Children Dental Health Month by organizing an Oral Health Screening programme and awareness Workshop on Thursday at Setvi Devi Memorial Senior Secondary Vidya Mandir at Mahavir Enclave, Delhi. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Associate Dean and Prof. and Head). The Dental team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana (Reader, Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 1 postgraduate student Dr. Nitin from the Department of Pedodontics, and 6 BDS Interns Muskan, Palak, Arshiya, Garima, Preeti, Sakshi, and 1 attendant Mr. Sunil. Screening of a total of 147 students were carried out from Preparatory to Class 12th including 85 boys and 62 girls. All Students suffering from different dental problems were informed and advised about dental treatment. Oral Hygiene aids such as toothbrushes and toothpaste were also distributed to the students. The oral health awareness workshop was conducted for the students witnessed a lot of enthusiasm and interest on the part of students during the interactive session and quiz. At the end of the session, a token of appreciation in the form of cups with oral health messages was given to the students for their active participation in the quiz. The principal and staff members showed acknowledgment for the informative and resourceful screening process with an appreciation letter and warm hospitality.
