Prodigy Association, Faculty of Science, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council, SGT University celebrated the National Science Day-2023 to pay tribute to all the Indian Scientists for tirelessly working for humankind and to spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people via displaying all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. National Science Day-2023 was celebrated following the theme entitled “Global Science for Global Wellbeing” in the gracious presence of Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Honourable, Pro-Chancellor, SGT University. Firstly, Prof. (Dr.) Lakhwinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science, SGT University welcomed the prestigious guest speakers and the audience. Then, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Sir extended his wishes to the audience and filled the students with enthusiasm. Later, the invited speaker of the day, respectable Dr. Shubhra Chaturvedi, Scientist F, Division of Cyclotron and Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, INMAS, DRDO, Delhi, delivered a talk on “Measuring What Matters: Technological Developments in Science. She explained the significance of molecular modeling in the early-stage diagnosis of diseases. Lastly, the second esteemed speaker, Dr. Robert Green, Reader Forensic Science, University of Kent, Canterbury, UK, delivered a talk on “Forensic science in India-an outsider’s perspective” through online mode. He explained the need and advancement of forensic science in global wellbeing via giving some real time case studies and statistics.
More than 130 UG/PG Students, Research Scholars, and Faculty members of attended these talks. The talks and the later respective interaction sessions with these both eminent speakers remained truly interesting and informative for all the attendees, and the event successfully ended with a Vote of Thanks to all present.
