Hry Governor Bandaru Dattatraya calls upon alumni to contibute in making varsities self reliant

Haryana Governor and Chancellor, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa Bandaru Dattatraya called upon the alumni to come forward to contribute in making the universities of the state self-reliant. He said that the alumni should adopt their mother institutions and set the target of taking the government grant of the university to zero.

Dattatraya was addressing the online ‘Alumni Meet’ function of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa today. More than 800 participants registered their presence in this online programme.

Describing the alumni as the capital of the educational institution, the Governor said that all the universities should create a separate alumni cell and create a database from the first batch till date. The need of the hour is to promote dialogue between the University and the alumni so that the alumni develop a sense of contribution to the development of the institution. He said that Atmanirbhar Bharat can be built by promoting skill and vocational education and the new National Education Policy is value based as well as focuses on holistic personality development of the students. He said that health and education services are based on public service. Therefore, university professors and students can ensure nation building by engaging in various public welfare works. He said that the alumni will have to help in creating the educational infrastructure based on the local demand so that a golden India can be made.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology Murthal, Professor Rajendra Kumar Anayat graced the occasion as the special guest and in his address said that the alumni are the backbone of any university and their juniors have followed the path shown by them. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ajmer Singh Malik presented the details of the academic and infrastructural development projects of the University. He thanked the Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya for taking precious time out to bless the alumni of the University and guide them for the development of the University.
On this occasion, Professor Surendra Singh, Director, Alumni Association of the University welcomed the chief guest while Dr. Amit Sangwan, Secretary of the Association, thanked him.
