International Buddhist Media Conclave to Focus on Mindful Communication and Conflict Avoidance, Set for September 11 in Delhi

The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) and the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) are thrilled to announce the 2nd International Buddhist Media Conclave, scheduled for 11th September 2024 at VIF, New Delhi. Themed “Mindful Communication for Conflict Avoidance and Sustainable Development,” this prestigious event will bring together media professionals and Buddhist scholars from across Asia to explore how Buddhist principles can enhance modern media practices.

 

Delhi to host second International Buddhist Media Conclave, Baichung Bhutia to attend as Guest of Honour

 

The upcoming Second International Buddhist Media Conclave, scheduled for September 11 in Delhi, promises a dynamic and impactful gathering. The event will feature Shri Baichung Bhutia, the renowned former captain of the Indian Football Team, as the Guest of Honour, and Shri Gurumurthy, Chairman of the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF), who will deliver the keynote address. With media representatives from 18 countries in attendance, the conclave will foster international dialogue and collaboration.

The primary objectives of this year’s conclave include fostering ethical journalism by exploring how Buddhist teachings can be integrated into media practices, promoting mindful communication to develop strategies for conflict avoidance and sustainable development, and building a professional network of Buddhist media professionals across Asia. Following the success of the inaugural conclave, which brought together approximately 150 delegates from 12 countries, this year’s event aims to deepen the integration of Buddhist insights into global media practices and address contemporary global challenges through mindful and ethical approaches.
