SGT University Hosts Workshop on Periodontal Magnification Techniques

The Department of Periodontology at SGT University, in collaboration with the Perio-Unnati Academic Club, successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Seeing Beyond the Obvious: Revolutionizing Periodontal Practice with Magnification” on June 12. The event aimed to enhance clinical practice through the integration of magnification tools, particularly dental loupes.

The workshop provided postgraduate students, interns, and members of the Perio-Unnati Academic Association Club with an exceptional opportunity to gain practical experience in advanced periodontal techniques. Participants received comprehensive exposure to magnification-assisted dentistry, starting from foundational concepts to real-time applications.

Led by experts in the field, the workshop included detailed demonstrations followed by interactive hands-on exercises. Participants practiced under supervision, improving their diagnostic accuracy and surgical precision—key skills that were significantly enhanced by using magnification tools like loupes.

The event was notable not only for its technical depth but also for its engaging and interactive format. Thoughtful discussions arose around the benefits of magnification in periodontal care, with many students expressing a renewed interest in incorporating visual enhancement tools into their clinical routines.

“The use of loupes and magnification is truly a game-changer in dental surgery,” stated one of the faculty coordinators. “It improves ergonomics, precision, and ultimately enhances patient outcomes.”

SGT University remains committed to promoting academic innovation and skill development through such interactive initiatives. The success of this workshop reaffirms the institution’s dedication to preparing students for modern, evidence-based clinical practice.
