SGT University’s “HR Meet” Sparks Dialogue on AI in HR
Gurugram, Haryana | SGT University’s Faculty of Commerce and Management (FCAM), in collaboration with the Corporate Connect Centre, successfully hosted a thought-provoking HR Meet titled “Re-Envisioning HR in the Era of AI.” The event brought together leading corporate figures and HR professionals from across India to deliberate on how artificial intelligence is redefining human resource practices.

Vice-Chancellor of SGT University, Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, opened the event by highlighting the vital role of HR in shaping an organisation’s present and future. “The HR department is quite possibly the most crucial wing of an organisation,” he noted, setting the tone for the day’s discussions. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jawahar Mal Jangir emphasised the shift of HR from a traditional function to a strategic, tech-enabled role, advocating for deeper industry-academia partnerships.

Dean FCAM, Dr. Kirti Dutta, coined the term “Human AI Resources,” signifying the need to prepare students for a hybrid workforce. She expressed gratitude to the industry partners for helping shape a job-ready generation.

The event featured two high-impact panel discussions. The first, “The Changing Face of HR – AI as a Game Changer,” saw insights from Ms. Sonal Kapur Sinha (Esme Consumer), Col. Tarun Vohra (Lumax Industries), Mr. Pradeep Pandey (Grant Thornton), and Mr. Harsh Priya Arya (Jai Bharat Maruti), moderated by Mr. Siddhant Chandel (ISDC). “AI is designed to augment, not replace. Adaptability and continuous learning are now essential HR skills,” stated Mr. Pandey.

The second panel, “Ethics, Empathy, and the Human Touch – Finding Balance in an AI-Driven HR World,” featured Ms. Meetu Singh (KPMG), Mr. Gaurav Mehta (CVENT), Mr. Mukul Mathur (Rays Power Infra), and Mr. Yogesh Raheja (Thinknyx Technologies), moderated by Dr. Vineet Mangal (Beewise Consulting). “Without ethical guidance, AI can reinforce bias,” warned Ms. Singh, while Mr. Mathur stressed the irreplaceable role of human judgment.

The event was supported by ISDC (Knowledge Partner), Samatrix.io (Gold Sponsor), and Amar Ujala (Media Partner), all of whom contributed to its grand success. The insights shared left a lasting impression on SGT students and faculty alike, reinforcing the university’s commitment to bridging academia with industry evolution.
