ISRO Set to Launch EOS-05 from Sriharikota
India’s space program is preparing for another significant launch as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) gets ready to send the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite into space. The satellite is scheduled to lift off at 2:55 AM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket.
ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan stated that launch preparations have been completed at the space center and that the mission is ready for takeoff. Speaking to the media in Tirumala, he described EOS-05 as a state-of-the-art Earth observation spacecraft designed to enhance India’s ability to observe and monitor the Earth from space.
One of the main highlights of this mission is the satellite’s planned placement in a geosynchronous orbit. According to the ISRO Chairman, EOS-05 will be India’s first imaging satellite to be placed in this type of orbit. This marks a significant development for India’s Earth observation program and its growing use of space-based imaging technology.

The launch preparations also included a traditional moment of prayer. Before visiting the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Narayanan placed models of the GSLV-F17 rocket at the feet of Lord Venkateswara and offered prayers for the mission.
