China Launches World’s First 10G Broadband Network in Futuristic Xiong’an City

In the high-tech city of Xiong’an, China has formally opened the world’s first 10G internet network, marking a revolutionary advancement in global broadband technology. Utilising cutting-edge 50 G-PON (Passive Optical Network) technology, the network was created in collaboration between China Unicom and telecom behemoth Huawei. It sets a new standard for internet access by delivering download speeds of up to 10 gigabytes per second.

President Xi Jinping ordered the creation of the smart city of Xiong’an, which is about 70 miles southwest of Beijing. The city was first envisioned in 2017 as a new hub for sustainability and innovation, and it currently has what is said to be the world’s fastest internet network.

With the significant delay reduction provided by this next-generation broadband infrastructure, customers may experience uninterrupted 8K video streaming, high-performance cloud gaming, and massive file downloads in a matter of seconds. However, the importance of this launch goes much beyond amusement.

A variety of futuristic applications, such as real-time data exchange for autonomous car networks, immersive VR and AR environments, and the smooth integration of artificial intelligence into routine urban operations, are anticipated to be powered by the ultra-high-speed network.
