CM Nayab Saini Revives Haryana’s Disneyland Dream to Boost Tourism in Gurugram

In a bold move to catapult Haryana onto the global tourism map, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has revived the long-lost dream of a Disneyland-style amusement park in Gurugram, Delhi-NCR. The ambitious project is designed to transform the region into a world-class tourist destination.

During a high-level meeting in New Delhi with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, CM Saini laid out his vision for Haryana’s tourism growth, with the Disneyland-inspired theme park as the flagship project. Planned on a 500-acre site near Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar, the location offers excellent accessibility through the KMP Expressway and Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.

Calling it a “game-changing initiative,” Saini emphasized the park’s potential to drive economic development, stating:

“The Disneyland project will capitalise on Gurugram’s market potential and connectivity to create a world-class amusement centre. It will create thousands of jobs, develop infrastructure, and transform the surrounding areas.”

This ambitious move also echoes a similar proposal made by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in 1989, which never materialized due to administrative and financial constraints. Now, under the BJP-led state government, the idea has been revived with stronger groundwork, better infrastructure, and more strategic planning.

Gurugram’s rise as a business and urban hub—home to several Fortune 500 companies and the under-development Global City Project—makes it an ideal location for such a venture. CM Saini expressed confidence that the theme park would attract both domestic and international tourists, giving a strong push to Haryana’s tourism revenue and positioning the state as a cultural and entertainment destination.

Despite political controversy, the project signals a significant shift in Haryana’s development narrative—one that blends cultural revival, economic opportunity, and modern tourism infrastructure.

If executed successfully, CM Saini’s Disneyland dream could become a landmark attraction not just for Haryana but for the entire country.
