Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: BJP Unveils First List of Candidates
The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. In a strategic move aimed at reinforcing its position in the state, the party has approved the names of 67 candidates, including 17 incumbent MLAs and 8 sitting ministers.
In a notable development, the BJP has once again placed its trust in 17 MLAs and 8 ministers, reaffirming its confidence in its existing leadership. The party has decided to cut the tickets of several individuals who recently joined the BJP, opting instead to rely on its seasoned representatives and some fresh faces.
Among the prominent names on the list is Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, who will be contesting from the Ladwa constituency in Kurukshetra. This decision comes amidst speculation that he might also be fielded from Karnal, which has now been put to rest.
Additionally, the BJP has fielded Zila Parishad Chairman Manju Hooda to contest against former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, signaling a high-profile battle in the upcoming elections.
The first list also features 8 women candidates, underscoring the party’s commitment to greater female representation in the political arena.
