Operation Sindoor: Indian Armed Forces Conduct Precision Strikes on Terrorist Camps

In a strong and strategic response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strike, carried out in the early hours of May 7, 2025, marked a decisive step in India’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

According to a statement released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Delhi, a total of nine terrorist sites were precisely targeted during the operation. These locations were believed to be the origin points for several planned terror strikes against India.

What distinguishes Operation Sindoor from past military responses is its measured, focused, and non-escalatory nature. The Indian forces ensured that no Pakistani military facilities were attacked, demonstrating a calculated restraint aimed solely at dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

This strategic action follows the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack, which tragically claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. In the wake of the attack, the Indian government had vowed to hold those responsible accountable, and Operation Sindoor represents the fulfillment of that commitment.

The precision strikes signify a clear message from India: terrorist activities originating across the border will not be tolerated. While the operation was carefully designed to avoid wider conflict, it underscores India’s unwavering stance on protecting national security and civilian lives.

A detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor is expected later today. At this briefing, officials will provide more information on the mission’s planning, execution, and outcomes.

Operation Sindoor has drawn strong domestic support, with many hailing it as necessary to combat terrorism and uphold national sovereignty.
